PROFILE
Takuya Kamiyama
I produce contemporary vessels, tumblers and other tableware. Raised from precious metals and other metals, working predominantly in silver I incorporate hammering, engraving and chasing techniques.
My inspirations for my silversmithing are derived from nature, e.g. moss, bacteria and the layers which form the soil underground.
I interpret and incorporate these somewhat grotesque themes of living organisms through form and texture as a way to express and seek beauty in my vision.
